Leaving Ushuaia city, we'll travel along National Route 3, northeast towards the mountain peaks of Mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos.
Along the way through Carbajal Valley, we'll see cirque glaciers, hanging valleys, and peat bogs. There, we'll make our first stop at the vantage point to take photos.
The second stop will be at our Llanos del Castor property, where we'll have a short talk about the place and the activities we'll do during the day, while enjoying delicious mountain coffee, herbal teas, and tortafritas (fried pastries).
We'll continue our journey to the *Haruwen Winter Center* to visit its artisanal gin distillery and motorcycle museum.
We'll say goodbye and start climbing up to the *Garibaldi Crossing*, following the winding road, surrounded by forests full of Lengas and Ñires. We'll reach an altitude of 500 meters above sea level to cross the Andes Range along disused roads that only our trucks can navigate.
At the Paso Garibaldi Vantage Point, we'll stop to take in panoramic views of *Lakes Escondido and Fagnano* and the surrounding area. At each lake, we'll make scenic stops so you can take photos and enjoy some time soaking up the island's peacefulness. After seeing the two lakes, we'll head to Llanos del Castor to taste its regional dishes and explore its valley.
We'll continue to the shores of Escondido Lake, where we'll stop at the old Hostería Petrel. Here, we'll tell you a bit about its history and the flora and fauna of the area. We'll be able to stroll around the area and take photos on the shores of the lake. Then we'll take an incredible journey through the forest and along the river until we reach Lake Fagnano. This is the best part!
After this adventure, we'll head back to Llanos del Castor, where we'll stop for lunch at the lodge to enjoy a delicious regional dish, and then return to the city of Ushuaia with some lasting memories.
In the valley, you'll have the opportunity to meet our sled dogs. We stopped doing the activity a few years ago, but we have the nicest lodge designed for you to meet them and play with them. An activity not to be missed!
