We will set sail from the local tourist pier, crossing the wide Ushuaia Bay until we reach the Beagle Channel through Paso Chico. There, we will sail around Bird's Island, where we can appreciate the birdlife of Tierra del Fuego. We will observe skuas, black-browed albatrosses, ruddy shelducks, Magellanic coots, South American skimmers, and gray-seated gulls. Afterward, we will approach Sea Lion Island, where we will be able to observe South American and South Georgian fur seals. Both islands belong to the Bridges Archipelago. Upon reaching the Les Éclaireurs (The Enlighteners) Lighthouse, we will be able to observe colonies of imperial cormorants and rock cormorants while listening to the story of the sinking of the SS Monte Cervantes in 1930. This boat trip includes a stop at Puerto Karelo, on the Bridges Isles, where you can visit authentic Yamana concheros (shell middens). This guided walk lasts approximately 20 minutes and takes us to a panoramic viewpoint where you can take excellent photographs. At the end of the tour, you will be amazed by the view of the mountain range surrounding the city of Ushuaia and the magnificent natural landscape that surrounds it. The tour we are taking is rich in history and, of course, in scenic beauty. We visit truly fascinating places that you won't want to miss the opportunity to discover.
