The journey begins with a departure from your centrally located Tucumán hotel, setting a course for Tafí del Valle, a serene valley perched at an elevation of 2,000 meters above sea level. Your first stop introduces you to the Jesuit Chapel and Convent of San José de Lules, where the chapel and cloister remain, steeped in history.
From there, you'll ascend the valley via Route 307, meandering through the enchanting Los Sosa River Gorge, part of the Natural Reserve of the same name. Along the route, you'll come across the striking "El Indio" monument.
Your next destination is the Archaeological Reserve Menhires Higher, marking the entrance to the Valley of Tafí, and its impact is truly astounding. As you encircle La Angostura Dam, you'll reach The Mollar to explore The Menhires. Here, you'll embark on a stroll through the Archaeological Reserve Los Menhires, where more than 50 rock formations, dating back over 2,000 years (from the beginning of the Christian era) and reaching heights of up to 3 meters, stand as a mesmerizing archaeological legacy left by ancient cultures.
Within Tafí del Valle, you'll encounter well-preserved Jesuit architecture, with the oldest section erected by the Jesuits in the early 18th century. The valley provides a break for lunch (optional), followed by a continuation along Route 307 to reach a viewpoint that offers the most breathtaking vistas of the valley.
Upon returning to Tucumán, your tour takes you to the Atahualpa Museum, concluding with a drop-off at your hotel.
