Enjoy a unique artistic and cultural experience in the historic San Telmo neighborhood and discover fileteado porteño, one of the most representative expressions of Buenos Aires' visual identity, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The activity begins at Fedro Libros, located at Carlos Calvo 578, San Telmo, where you will meet a local fileteador artist who will introduce you to the history, origins, and secrets of this traditional Argentine art that originated in Buenos Aires at the beginning of the 20th century.
During the experience, you'll learn about the techniques and characteristics that make fileteado porteño unique, such as its curved lines, symmetries, ornamentation, traditional typefaces, and the use of vibrant colors. After the introduction, you'll take part in a hands-on workshop where you can apply what you've learned and create your own fileteado print with all materials included. With the artist's guidance, you'll create a unique piece that you can take home as an authentic souvenir of your visit to Buenos Aires.
The experience lasts approximately 2 hours and takes place from Thursday to Sunday at 4:00 p.m. The activity takes place in an enclosed space, so it is not affected by weather conditions. Languages available include Spanish.
At the end, you will receive a certificate of participation, and the activity will conclude at the same meeting point: Fedro Libros, in the heart of San Telmo.
