This tour combines a classic Yerevan city experience with a unique perspective that reveals a less obvious side of the city — through its streets, atmosphere, and local flavors.
The tour begins at the Cascade — one of Yerevan’s most iconic landmarks, offering panoramic views over the city.
From there, we walk down into the center and pass through Saryan Park — a lively open-air art space where local artists display and sell their paintings, reflecting the city’s creative spirit.
Next, the route leads to the Opera and Ballet Theater — one of the city’s main symbols and a vibrant cultural hub where concerts, ballet, and events take place regularly.
We then walk along Northern Avenue — a modern pedestrian street connecting the Opera with Republic Square and reflecting contemporary Yerevan.
The route continues to Republic Square — the main architectural ensemble of the city, known for its pink tuff buildings and musical fountains.
From here, the experience shifts.
We walk along the very first and oldest street of Yerevan — where the city’s story began. Today, it is a central area where modern buildings stand alongside rare remnants of older structures.
On the adjacent street, there used to be many old houses and courtyards, but over time almost all disappeared. Today, only one such space remains — the courtyard we are heading to.
Behind an unremarkable archway, which most pedestrians pass without noticing, lies the entrance.
Inside, you will find a courtyard over 100 years old — the only remaining example of old Yerevan on this street. The owners have carefully preserved its character: layers of old wallpaper form a visual timeline, while cracks and textures are intentionally left visible, allowing you to feel the passage of time.
Within the courtyard, a unique space has been created — a single courtyard uniting several buildings, each dedicated to local Armenian products: wine, beer, distillates, food, and coffee.
A special highlight is the collection of distillates — a true botanical encyclopedia of Armenia. These drinks are made from fruits, berries, herbs, and nuts: from traditional flavors like apricot, mulberry, plum, pear, and cornelian cherry to unexpected ones such as cucumber, macadamia, ginger, and wasabi. Over 100 varieties are represented.
Each drink comes directly from small-scale producers across Armenia. These are not mass-produced, but carefully selected spirits rooted in family traditions passed down through generations.
