From Kigali: 3-Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari｜Rwanda

Day 1: Kigali – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your driver-guide will collect you from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a short safari briefing, begin the scenic journey through Rwanda’s rolling hills toward the Uganda border.

Complete the immigration formalities before continuing to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Enjoy views of terraced hills, rural villages, and the beautiful landscapes of southwestern Uganda. Arrive at Dorotia Eco Tourism Resort, check in, and relax as you prepare for the following day’s gorilla adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for registration and a briefing from the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You will then enter the rainforest with an experienced ranger-guide to search for a habituated mountain gorilla family.

The trek can take several hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once they are found, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing and photographing them as they feed, play, and interact in their natural habitat.

After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. An optional Batwa cultural experience or community walk can be arranged in the afternoon.

Day 3: Bwindi – Return to Kigali

Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before beginning the scenic return journey to Rwanda. Cross the border and continue through the picturesque countryside to Kigali.

Depending on your departure schedule, you may stop for lunch or enjoy an optional Kigali city tour, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Your driver-guide will drop you off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport, marking the end of your safari.
