Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide and taken on a brief city tour of Kigali. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial and learn about Rwanda’s history. After lunch, transfer to Musanze and check into the luxurious Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge. In the afternoon, visit the Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.
Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking
Rise early for your gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. After a briefing at the park headquarters, trek through the lush forest to observe a habituated gorilla family. The trek can be challenging, but the reward of seeing these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat is truly unforgettable. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Gorilla Guardians Village to learn about local culture and history through interactive performances and demonstrations.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking
After breakfast, head back to Volcanoes National Park for golden monkey trekking. Trek through the bamboo forests to observe these playful primates as they leap from tree to tree. After Golden Monkey trek, transfer back to Kigali. If time allows, visit local markets and handicraft shops before heading to the airport for your departure flight.
