This is an activity that we offer only in the morning, as there is better light and to avoid potential high water levels in the afternoon.
In summer, the meeting point is at 8 a.m. in the parking area of Bassin la Paix, in Saint-Benoît, which is one of the most popular tourist sites in the East.
Welcoming guests, presentation of the activity and gear:
5-millimeter neoprene wetsuits, vests, helmets, and boardshorts. Use of a safe for valuables.
Fifteen minutes of easy walking on flat ground, with an overview of sugarcane and vanilla cultivation along the way. Safety briefing, 1.4-kilometer descent, nine jumps from 1.5 to 12 meters. The 1.5-meter jumps are mandatory; all other heights are optional. Four small slides, two hours of activity; allow three hours with the gear, the briefing, and the complimentary aperitif. The photo and video report is sent free of charge via WhatsApp.
The Rivière des Roches is one of the first lava flows of the Piton des Neiges. This river is therefore an ancient lava tube that has opened up. The river is located in the green center of Saint-Benoît, which is a classified wooded area. In fact, there are more than 750 endemic species. The descent ends at the unmissable vantage point of Bassin la Paix, with its eighteen-meter waterfall surrounded by basaltic organ pipes and tree ferns
