Tikehau: Scuba Diving at 2 Sites -N1 or Open Water Certified｜French Polynesia

Begin your morning with a convenient pickup and a warm welcome at the dive center, where you’ll complete formalities and be equipped with high-quality diving gear. After a short preparation, depart from the dock for a scenic 30-minute boat ride across Tikehau’s stunning lagoon toward the iconic Tuheiava Pass.

Upon arrival at the first dive site, your instructor will provide a detailed briefing covering the site, safety procedures, and the incredible marine life you may encounter. Then it’s time to enter the water with a back roll and begin your first dive, lasting a minimum of 50 minutes.

Expect to be surrounded by dense schools of fish, including horse mackerel, snapper, jacks, and barracudas. Keep an eye out for whitetip reef sharks, moray eels, and triggerfish, all part of the vibrant ecosystem that makes Tikehau so unique.

After surfacing, enjoy a relaxing break on board. Savor a tasty snack with hot tea or water while sharing impressions from your first dive — a convivial moment in the heart of the lagoon.

Next, head to your second dive site, carefully selected by your experienced instructor based on conditions and wildlife activity. Whether it’s Tuheiava, Teonai, Poito, Aramu Ramu, the old pearl farm, or another exceptional location, each site offers its own spectacular scenery and encounters.

Your second dive, again lasting at least 50 minutes, gives you another opportunity to explore this thriving underwater world. With a bit of luck, you may even encounter larger pelagic species such as hammerhead sharks or tiger sharks — rare and unforgettable sightings that make each dive truly unique.

After completing your dives, return to the village dock with lasting memories of one of the richest marine environments in the world.
