On this first leg of the tour, guests will ride through Tsumeb's central historic district to admire early 20th-century colonial architecture and key memorial landmarks, how early mining, world conflicts shaped the community.

Stop 2: Mining Era Social Life
Cycle over to the historical heart of social life during Tsumeb’s mining heyday. Built during the peak expansion of the Tsumeb Corporation Limited (TCL), this complex served as the premier leisure hub for mine managers, engineers, and town residents.

Stop 3: A Century-Old Historic Oasis
Cycle into the leafy grounds of the historic Minen Hotel, affectionately known as the "Grand Old Lady" of Tsumeb. Operating for over 100 years, this landmark property was established in the early 1900s.

Stop 4: Indigenous Origin of Tsumeb
Cycle to the birthplace of Tsumeb. Long before industrial headframes and deep shafts dominated the landscape, there was a magnificent 12-meter-high hill with a rich surface of malachite and copper ore originally mined by the Hai//om.

Stop 5: De Wet Shaft & Miner's Experience
Stop beneath the towering headframe of the iconic De Wet Shaft, the main industrial gateway to Tsumeb’s deep-level copper, lead, and zinc operations during the 20th century.

Stop 6: Old TCL Miners Hostel-Migrant Labor & Social Legacy
The historic living quarters that once housed thousands of migrant miners during Tsumeb’s mining peak. The Old TCL Miners Hostels offer an eye-opening look into the Contract Labor System.

Stop 7: Street Food & Local Flavors
Pull up your e-bikes at Tate Tommy’s Kapana, one of Tsumeb’s most famous local culinary spots.

Stop 8: Soweto Township - The Old Location & Community Resilience
Ride your e-bikes into Soweto, Tsumeb’s historical township (often referred to as the "Old Location"). Named after the iconic township in South Africa, this vibrant neighborhood carries a deep history of urban planning during the segregation era, while serving as a shining testament to community resilience, warm Namibian hospitality, and local culture today.
