Escape the city and discover the beauty of Mount Vodno and Matka Canyon on this half-day adventure from Skopje. Start with a scenic drive up Vodno Mountain and ride the cable car to the Millennium Cross*, the largest in Europe, where panoramic views stretch across the Skopje Valley.
* (as of April 2026 the cable car is out of service, visiting the Millennium Cross is not possible at this moment)

Continue to the 12th-century Church of St. Panteleimon, home to world-renowned Byzantine frescoes that reveal the region’s rich cultural heritage.

Finally, breathe in the fresh air at Matka Canyon, surrounded by towering cliffs and crystal-clear waters. Take an optional boat ride through the emerald lake to visit **Vrelo Cave**, one of the world’s deepest underwater caves. A perfect mix of history, culture, and nature—ideal for any traveler.

  • Know Before You Go: The cable car to the Millennium Cross does not work on Mondays, last Tuesday of the month, or when the weather is not suitable (windy, lightning, thunder)

  • Know Before You Go: Be aware! The places we visit on weekends and holidays tend to have a high number of visitors, so we may need to walk more due to the large number of buses

  • Know Before You Go: Please bring exactly 100mkd for the cable car, and 500mkd for the boat trip to the Vrelo Cave in the Matka Canyon

  • Know Before You Go: If you select the cable car ticket option or all-inclusive package, the ticket is not refundable if the cable car is not working for some reason (weather, Mondays, last Tuesday of the month or technical issues)

  • Know Before You Go: If the church of St. Panteleimon is closed due to service (baptism/wedding) the ticket is non-refundable

  • Know Before You Go: Return times may vary depending on traffic
