Step Into a Parallel World Where the USSR Still Lives On Journey with us beyond Moldova’s eastern border to Transnistria — a fascinating breakaway republic frozen in time. Unrecognized by any other country, Transnistria nonetheless runs its government, prints its currency, flies its flag, and guards its borders. Here, Lenin statues still stand proudly, and the Soviet legacy remains remarkably intact.
Your Experience Your adventure begins with pickup from your hotel in Chișinău by your English-speaking guide in a comfortable private car. Enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling Moldovan countryside before crossing the Dniester River — passport in hand — into this enigmatic and unrecognized state. Majestic statues of Lenin and Suvorov dominate public squares.
Streets lined with Soviet mosaics, slogans, and grand architecture.
Iconic landmarks like the House of Soviets, war memorials, cultural palaces, and more
Stories of how Transnistria maintains its institutions, currency, and way of life
