We go by car from Riga to Augstkalne, Latvia. Here are a few shops in case you want to buy some food or drinks and I will show you where we will arrive. After that we will drive further to the start location of the kayak tour, which is at the Latvian side of the border.
Please note that you will have to possess the skill of swimming to participate in this activity although we will not swim but kayak! You are also required to wear the life jacket I provide! The river is very calm and easy to navigate so ok for beginners but it's Latvian law to wear a life jacket when doing watersports! Because we are crossing an international border it's obliged to bring your ID cards and passports!
Later we will visit a Lithuanian border village. It's possible to eat stone oven baked pizza here or bagels (price not included and based upon availability). We will explore the town a bit :-)

Know Before You Go: It is handy to take some bug repellent spray although only needed in the minutes before we go on the river. On the river there are no bugs. The mosquitoes are not so bad as in Sweden or Finland :-)
