On day 1, you will begin your journey at Taiburyldyn Shabysy Ranch, where you’ll meet your instructors and horses. After settling in, enjoy a peaceful horseback ride across the steppe before a traditional Kazakh lunch. In the afternoon, visit the Kabanbai Batyr Mausoleum, a historic site honoring one of Kazakhstan’s greatest warriors. End the day with a hearty dinner and relaxing sauna session.
On day 2, you will start the day by feeding and grooming horses, connecting with the rhythms of ranch life. Ride through scenic landscapes along the Nura River, then return for a traditional Kazakh lunch. Spend the afternoon exploring the river’s tranquil beauty before unwinding with a sunset ride and sauna session.
On day 3, you will immerse yourself in nomadic traditions by shepherding young mares into the steppe at dawn. After lunch, help herd the horses back to the ranch. In the evening, join a cooking masterclass to learn how to prepare manty (steamed dumplings) before sharing stories over tea.
On day 4, you will challenge yourself to a long-distance trek across the steppe. In the evening, you will discover Astana’s modern marvels with a visit to the National Museum of Kazakhstan and architectural highlights of the city’s left bank.
On day 5, you will herd horses and cows alongside local herders, then learn to milk mares and craft kumis, a traditional fermented drink. After lunch, explore Astana’s right bank, known for its Soviet-era architecture and bustling markets. In the evening, you will visit a master jeweler to witness Kazakh craftsmanship. After lunch, explore the majestic Hazrat Sultan Mosque, the largest in Kazakhstan.
On day 6, you will refine your equestrian skills during a morning training session before learning to make kaymak (creamy dairy spread). Witness the traditional game of Kazakhstan - kokpar. In the evening, you will discover Astana’s cultural gems, including the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, then browse artisan boutiques. Conclude the day with an elegant evening at the opera, immersing yourself in Kazakhstan’s vibrant performing arts.
On day 7, you will develop your advanced riding skills at the hippodrome, then help herd livestock across the open steppe. In the evening, learn to prepare lagman (hand-pulled noodles) and share a communal dinner with fellow adventurers.
