Song-Kul Alpine Escape 2-Day Tour with Horseback Riding｜Kyrgyzstan

Day 1: Into the Heart of the Tien Shan
Your adventure begins in Bishkek, where your guide will pick you up for a scenic drive east. Our first stop is the Burana Tower, an 11th-century minaret standing amidst ancient stone "balbal" warriors. Climb the original brick stairs for a view of the Chuy Valley that hasn't changed in centuries.

After a lunch break in the dramatic Boom Gorge, we head toward the turquoise Orto-Tokoy Reservoir. As we gain altitude, the landscape transforms. We’ll cross the high-mountain passes where the air turns crisp and the horizons widen into the jailoos (summer pastures) of Song-Kul. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive at your yurt camp. Settle in, enjoy a home-cooked nomadic dinner, and witness a sunset over the lake that defies description.

Day 2: The Nomadic Life & Heritage
Wake up to the sound of horse hooves and the smell of fresh mountain air. After breakfast, the morning is yours to explore. You can join a relaxed horseback ride across the meadows to nearby hills for a "birds-eye" view of the lake, or simply walk along the shore to meet local shepherd families.

After lunch, we begin our descent. We’ll stop in Kochkor, a village famous for its felt-making traditions. Here, you’ll see how local artisans create the iconic shyrdak carpets. We’ll continue through the mountain passes, arriving back in Bishkek by evening, leaving you with memories of a world far removed from the modern day.
