Discover Kyrgyzstan on a private 3-day journey from Bishkek to Issyk-Kul, Karakol, and Altyn Arashan. The itinerary is arranged to keep the long mountain sections realistic and comfortable while including every advertised experience.
Day 1: Bishkek – Bokonbaevo – Karakol
Meet your English-speaking driver-guide at your hotel in Bishkek and travel through Boom Gorge toward the southern shore of Issyk-Kul. Stop in Bokonbaevo for a traditional eagle hunting demonstration and learn about this important nomadic tradition. After lunch, continue along the southern shore to Karakol. Check in at your hotel and enjoy dinner. Overnight in Karakol.
Day 2: Altyn Arashan
After breakfast, travel to the mountain transfer point and change to a specialized 4x4 vehicle for the rugged road into Altyn Arashan Valley. The off-road journey is slow and bumpy, but it leads through spectacular alpine scenery. Explore the valley, have lunch, and relax in the natural hot springs surrounded by forests and mountain peaks. Return to Karakol in the evening for dinner and your second hotel night.
Day 3: Jeti-Oguz – Barskoon – Skazka Canyon – Bishkek
Leave Karakol early and visit Jeti-Oguz Gorge, known for its dramatic red rock formations. Continue to Barskoon Gorge for a walk near the waterfalls. After lunch, explore the colorful rock formations of Skazka, also known as Fairytale Canyon. Then return to Bishkek through Boom Gorge, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
The tour includes private transportation, an English-speaking driver-guide, 2 nights of accommodation in Karakol, meals according to the itinerary, entrance fees, the eagle demonstration, the Altyn Arashan mountain transfer, hot springs access, and bottled water.
This is an active road trip with long driving hours, rough mountain roads, and some walking on uneven terrain. The third day is especially long. The exact timing may change because of weather, roadworks, or local road conditions, but all included locations will remain in the program whenever access is safe.
