Golden hour on the Troodos summit is a moment when the mountain reveals its colours, textures, and geological story. This experience is not a photography workshop. It’s a guided hike that teaches you how geologists observe and record the world around them — from sweeping horizons to tiny mineral details.
As we walk along the Artemis Trail, you’ll learn how light interacts with mantle rocks like serpentinite, harzburgite, and dunite, and how their colours shift as the sun lowers. You’ll explore both the landscape scale and the close‑up scale: the ridgelines, shadows, and structure of the mountain, as well as the mineral patterns, fractures, and textures that glow in warm evening light.
We’ll stop at panoramic viewpoints where you can see almost the entire island — a layered landscape stretching from the northern coastline to the southern sea. Throughout the hike, the pace remains slow and mindful, inviting you to notice the scents, colours, sounds, and subtle changes in the environment.
This is geophotography: a way of seeing, not a lesson in equipment. You can bring a camera, a phone, or simply your eyes. The focus is on awareness, curiosity, and connecting with the mountain in its most atmospheric hour.
