The tour begins at Republic Square, an ideal starting point for understanding the urban evolution of the Plateau. We will then step back in time as we walk along the major thoroughfares lined with administrative buildings and former colonial buildings. Each stop will be an opportunity to address a key aspect: the role of the district in the colonial era, the birth of Abidjan as an economic capital, and the current organization of political and administrative power.
We will explore the exterior of the Presidential Palace (without access to the interior), visit the Hôtel du District, and pass by the Postel Tower and the Sciam building, symbols of the country's architectural ambition. The tour concludes with a panoramic pause overlooking the Ébrié Lagoon, providing an ideal opportunity for discussion and questions.
Approximate duration: 2 hours on foot. The itinerary can be customized to suit the group's interests (architecture, politics, urban history, etc.).
