If your layover tour of the Forbidden City falls on a Monday (when it is closed, except during national holidays), consider visiting Jingshan Park as an excellent alternative.

Know Before You Go: The Forbidden City doesn't sell tickets on the day of your visit. Please make arrangements 7 days in advance in high season. It is closed on Mondays except on national traditional holidays
