商品説明

Step into the Harriet Beecher Stowe House, a site that bears witness to generations joining their voices for truth in the nation’s struggle toward freedom and humanity for all. Encounter the history this house witnessed in two different time periods 100 years apart.

Begin your journey in 1840 when abolitionist author Harriet Beecher Stowe lived in Cincinnati as a young teacher and mother preparing to write the blockbuster antislavery novel Uncle Tom’s Cabin.

Then, travel to 1940 when African-American proprietor Irene Bacon managed the house as the Edgemont Inn, a boarding house and tavern listed in the Green Book.

Enjoy a guided tour with a dedicated educator, and explore the rotating temporary exhibit. Plan to enjoy the outdoor exhibit on the historic site grounds and shop the bookstore before or after your house visit.

Bring the kids along to enjoy interactive activities spread throughout the guided tour.
