First, depart with your chauffeur for the Valensole plateau. This is one of the must-see places to admire the fields, take a walk, and especially photograph the scenery. Indeed, in Valensole, the lavender fields are incredibly beautiful and picture-perfect (only available in June and July).
Then head to the Verdon Gorges. The largest canyon in Europe, between the municipalities of Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, offers majestic landscapes.
The Verdon River took its time and carved out this canyon over thousands of years, which we can admire today. We will go to the Galetas Bridge, where we will have one of the most beautiful views of the Verdon Gorge and Lake Sainte-Croix. As a special bonus, we will take a short pedal boat ride on the lake, an unforgettable experience!
Afterwards, you will go to the village of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, nestled under a rocky cliff and surrounded by mountains from all sides. Known for its rich history in ceramic craftsmanship, you will have free time to explore Moustiers at your leisure.
You can discover the earthenware in the stores and buy souvenirs before lunch in one of the terrace cafes. Photograph the famous lavender plateaus or admire Lac de Sainte-Croix, an artificial treasure of clear water that is one of the most beautiful lakes in Provence.
Then admire the lavender fields as far as the eye can see at the foot of the Alps and stop to take unique and memorable photos with this impressive backdrop. Stop to smell the light and enchanting aroma of the lavender surrounding you.
After enjoying your day trip, you will return to your vehicle, which will take you back to your point of origin in Aix-en-Provence.
