Start your morning with an open-water adventure off Key Biscayne and experience Biscayne Bay from both above and below the surface. Launch from PADL Wind Club at Crandon Park by kayak or paddleboard and head offshore across clear, shallow waters and expansive seagrass beds.
During the first part of your adventure, paddle toward a shallow offshore sandbar where you’ll have time to get off your kayak or paddleboard, swim, cool off, and enjoy the beautiful waters surrounding Key Biscayne.
From there, the adventure continues as you paddle and snorkel your way through different areas of the bay. Stop along the route to slip beneath the surface and explore healthy seagrass beds, patches of coral, and marine habitats where you may encounter tropical fish, rays, lobsters, sea turtles, manatees, and other wildlife.
This isn’t a traditional sightseeing tour with a fixed route. Wind, waves, currents, tides, visibility, and the group’s ability help determine where your guides take you and which areas you explore. When conditions allow, the group may venture farther offshore toward areas of fossilized reef or discover other interesting places to snorkel along the way.
Every morning on Biscayne Bay is different, and that’s part of the experience. Paddle above the surface, snorkel beneath it, explore a sandbar, and discover whatever the waters of Key Biscayne have in store that day.
This is an open-water adventure. Participants should be confident swimmers and comfortable in the water. Previous kayaking or paddleboarding experience is recommended, particularly when wind, waves, or currents are present.
