Start your day with a visit to the fantastic flower auction in Aalsmeer. The largest marketplace for flowers and plants in the world, 43 million flowers and 5 million plants are sold every day. The auction itself is only online these days, but it is spectacular to view all the logistics that happen in the huge flower hall.

After this visit, drive to the Keukenhof Castle and see beautiful dahlias in all shapes and sizes in the castle gardens. From here, go to the Tulperij, a family-owned flower bulb farm with besides dahlias, also sunflowers and other spectacular plants.

On the way back, visit the Cruquius Museum to see the old steam pump used to dry the very large Haarlemmerlake in the 19th century. Enjoy a delicious lunch at the museum.
