Salzkammergut: Guided e-bike tour to the alpine pastures in Gosau and Hallstatt｜Austria

Join us on a guided e-mountain bike tour to the alpine pastures of the Salzkammergut. With the support of modern e-mountain bikes, you will explore wide forest and gravel roads – from the valley floors up to the high alpine pastures. Along the way, you will find impressive vantage points, beautiful photo spots, and rustic alpine huts.

The electric motor makes the climbs much easier. However, the descents are on forest and gravel roads and require your full attention as well as the willingness to follow your guide's riding style and pace. Technical trail knowledge is not required, but safe and controlled riding on loose gravel is part of the tour experience.

Depending on the route, the weather, and the composition of the group, you will tackle several climbs and descents with a total elevation gain of about 900 to 1,400 meters on a route of around 30 to 45 kilometers.

Before the tour departure, you will receive a detailed safety briefing and a short braking training session in the parking lot. During the tour, less confident participants ride directly behind the guide, who sets a steady and controlled pace on the safest lines.

The weather in the mountains can change rapidly, even in summer. Temperatures can drop to 5°C (41°F), and rain, wind, or sudden weather changes are possible at any time. Sturdy footwear, a wind-stopper and waterproof jacket, and warm clothing are therefore essential – regardless of the weather in the valley or at your starting point. All participants will receive detailed weather information one to three days before the tour.

Our certified local guides are experienced e-mountain bikers and are very familiar with the region. They adapt the pace and route to the group's abilities to ensure the tour is safe and enjoyable for everyone. At the same time, they provide interesting insights into the history, culture, and nature of the Salzkammergut.

This tour offers a true alpine e-bike experience in the midst of a unique mountain landscape – ideal for active guests who can ride a bike safely and are willing to follow their guide's instructions on unfamiliar terrain.
