Start your journey at Apoteket Lejonet, one of Sweden’s oldest pharmacies, operating since 1571. Step inside and admire its beautiful 19th-century interior before walking through a charming historic passage to S Petri Church, one of Malmö’s oldest buildings, with construction dating back to 1319.
Continue to Stortorget, Malmö’s historic main square, where you’ll see the impressive Town Hall and the statue of King Charles X Gustav. Then explore Lilla Torg, one of Malmö’s liveliest squares, surrounded by charming merchants’ houses dating back to the 16th century.
Next, discover Gustav Adolf Torg, a 19th-century square that shows how Malmö grew and changed over the centuries. You’ll also see an old cemetery that has been transformed into a beautiful city park.
From there, visit one of the world’s most beautiful libraries, made up of two buildings constructed almost a century apart. Here, it’s time to experience a true Swedish tradition — fika. Enjoy coffee or tea and a traditional Swedish cinnamon bun while taking part in a fun Swedish quiz and games. Learn more about Sweden, have some fun with your fellow travellers, and compete to become the Sweden Quiz Champion and win a small prize.
After fika, continue through Malmö’s green spaces and experience the city’s connection with nature. Stop at the historic Castle Mill, a 19th-century landmark and a perfect photo spot. Along the way, discover one of the world’s largest insect hotels and see Malmö’s iconic twisted skyscraper, Turning Torso, before finishing your tour at Malmöhus Castle, the oldest preserved Renaissance castle in Scandinavia.
A tour combining Malmö’s history, Swedish traditions, local life, nature, fika and a little friendly competition — all in one experience.
