We begin our fascinating walk in the Bomberos sector, where we will be greeted by a passionate local host who will guide us through the most authentic corners of Salento, showing us its essence before it became a tourist destination.
Following the sixth street, we head towards the emblematic Parque Principal, whose traces and facts over 191 years will be unveiled before us. Here, in the heart of Salento, we immerse ourselves in a contextualization of the symbols that make up the park, from busts and flagstones to the shapes that define this unique space.
We continue our walk along the royal street, exploring places that serve as a refuge for the Salentinos, away from mass tourism. Along the way, we talk about typical games, myths, legends, and the various aspects that make up the rich architectural heritage of Salento.
Arriving at the stairs to the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, we stop at one of the oldest houses and architectural symbol of the town. We ascend the stairs as we explore the religious history of Salento, centered on the devotion to the Virgen del Carmen, and discover the projects that gave birth to these iconic stairs.
From the Alto de la Cruz, we enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Salento, with the imposing church in the distance, a place that has captivated millions with its beauty. We descend towards the “Ecoparque Mirador”, from where we contemplate the basin of the Cocora trail, where the national tree grows: The Wax Palm.
We begin our descent along Carrera 4ta, and head towards the Photographic Museum, where the images captured by the inhabitants of the town, reveal the evolution and transformation of Salento over time. This museum offers a unique perspective, allowing us to connect with history through photographs that tell the stories of the past.
We will conclude the tour by returning to the main street, where you will have time to explore, buy souvenirs, capture photographs or enjoy other attractions that this charming town has to offer.
