Quito: 2 Day El Ángel & Polylepis Forest Tour with Stay｜Ecuador

Day 1: Quito, Condor Park, and El Ángel

Begin your adventure with a morning departure from your hotel in Quito, heading north towards San Pablo Lake. Upon arrival, visit Condor Park and enjoy an impressive bird-of-prey show featuring different species, including eagles, hawks, and the Andean condor.

After the show, enjoy some free time for lunch and a visit to the famous Otavalo market, one of Ecuador’s most important handicraft markets.

Continue your journey through the warm Chota Valley, before ascending into the highlands towards the charming town of El Ángel, hidden in the Andes. Continue to the Polylepis Forest and Frailejones, where you will check in to a beautiful lodge surrounded by nature.

In the evening, enjoy a three-course welcome dinner. Then, experience a magical torchlight walk through the forest, where, according to local traditions and legends, you will ask permission from the fairies and forest elves before entering their mystical surroundings. Overnight accommodation is in comfortable rooms immersed in nature.

Day 2: Andean Páramo, Polylepis Forest, and Frailejones

After breakfast, begin your hiking adventure. Hiking boots will be provided for each passenger. During the walk, visit the Laguna de los Deseos (Lake of Wishes), explore the ancient Polylepis Forest, and ascend through the spectacular Frailejones landscape.

The hike continues with a visit to a waterfall and wetlands, eventually reaching a scenic summit offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Andes. Here, enjoy an exciting ride on a giant swing, with the opportunity to experience it as many times as you wish while taking in the cool mountain breeze and spectacular scenery.

After descending, relax and enjoy the lodge’s spa facilities, including traditional steam baths, a large jacuzzi, and the option to experience a nature-inspired wellness and healing treatment. Finally, begin your direct return journey to Quito.
