OPTION 1: Full-Day Private Tour – Cacheuta and Potrerillos
Ideal for enjoying the mountains in just a few hours without leaving the city. Along Route 7, alongside the Mendoza River, the skyline gives way to the foothills. Stops in Cacheuta, a historic area of the old Trans-Andean railway, and at the imposing Potrerillos dam, an engineering marvel with a mirror of turquoise water between mountains. Stops for pictures and leisurely walks, enjoying the fresh air and peace and quiet. A scenic and relaxed experience, ideal as an introduction to the mountains of Mendoza.
OPTION 2: Private Full-Day Tour – Villavicencio
Head north along the historic Ruta Sanmartiniana, used by the Army of the Andes in the liberation campaign. You'll get to see the Villavicencio Nature Reserve, the gardens of the former Hotel Villavicencio, and its chapel, iconic landmarks in the heart of the mountains. Then, you'll ascend the Caracoles de Villavicencio, a winding road with unique views of the valley and the foothills, and some of the best picture-postcard views of Mendoza from its vantage points. It combines history, nature, and altitude in a dynamic tour with a great visual impact.
OPTION 3: Full-Day Private - High Mountain with Mt. Aconcagua (without Christ)
A must-do to explore the true Andes Mountain Range. The tour follows the Mendoza River, with a walk across the Suspension Bridge in Cacheuta and a view of Potrerillos Dam. Then, you'll enter the historic Uspallata Valley, a former Huarpe settlement and a key point in the War of Independence. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes imposing, with multicolored formations and mountains over 4,000 meters high. You'll visit Puente del Inca, a natural limestone formation shaped by geothermal processes, next to the Cementerio de los Andinistas. The highlight is the vantage point of Aconcagua Hill, the highest mountain in America, the "Roof of the Continent." In season (Nov. to April), an optional hike is possible in the Aconcagua Provincial Park to the Horcones Lagoon. The tour continues to Las Cuevas, on the border with Chile.
OPTION 4: Full-Day Private Tour – High Mountain with Aconcagua and Christ the Redeemer
Includes the full Option 3 tour (Cacheuta, Potrerillos Dam, Uspallata, Puente del Inca, Aconcagua vantage point, and Las Cuevas). If the weather and road conditions allow (January to April), you will also ascend to the Cristo Redentor de los Andes (Christ the Redeemer of the Andes) monument, standing at an altitude of over 12,467 feet (3,800 meters) above sea level, a symbol of the union between Argentina and Chile. This is the most complete version of the Andean experience, one of the highest road points in the country, with unparalleled panoramic views of the Cordillera.
