Day 1: Samarkand – Panjakent – Seven Lakes – Iskandar Lake
Start with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Samarkand. Drive to the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border and receive border crossing assistance. Arrive in Panjakent city and enjoy a short city sightseeing tour with photo stops in Panjakent (ancient and modern atmosphere).
Continue to the Seven Lakes (Haft Kul) in the Fann Mountains. Visit all seven mountain lakes, each with a unique color and landscape. Enjoy free time for walking, photography, and soaking in the pristine nature. In the late afternoon, drive towards Panjakent. Arrive in the evening and walk along the lakeshore, taking in breathtaking mountain views. Spend the night in a guesthouse Panjakent city in a private room.
Day 2: Iskandar Lake – Dushanbe
After breakfast at the guesthouse, drive to Iskandar lake, spend half a day exploring the Iskandar Lake area. Take in scenic viewpoints of the lake, enjoy short walks in the surrounding mountains, and relax with time for photography. After lunch, drive to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Arrive in Dushanbe in the afternoon and embark on an evening city tour. Visit Rudaki Avenue, the main boulevard of the city, the Somoni Monument, a symbol of Tajik statehood, and see the National Library of Tajikistan from the outside. Marvel at the Flagpole of Dushanbe, one of the tallest flagpoles in the world. Spend the night in a hotel in Dushanbe.
Day 3: Dushanbe – Varzob Valley – Samarkand
After breakfast at the hotel, continue your Dushanbe city tour, focusing on historical and cultural highlights. Visit the Haji Yaqub Mosque, one of the largest and most important mosques in Dushanbe, and the Central Cathedral Mosque of Dushanbe, the biggest mosque in Central Asia and a major religious and architectural landmark. Explore the National Museum of Tajikistan, showcasing history, archaeology, and cultural heritage, and stroll through the Botanical Garden of Dushanbe, a peaceful green area with diverse plants.
Drive to Varzob Valley, a mountain gorge north of Dushanbe, and enjoy river views, fresh air, and natural scenery. Take free time for walking and photography. In the late afternoon, drive back toward the Uzbekistan–Tajikistan border, cross the border, and arrive in Samarkand in the evening. Conclude your journey with a drop-off at your hotel.
