ーItinerary Overviewー

Depart from Sapporo for a 3-day, 2-night in-depth Daisetsuzan tour by private charter car, visiting iconic sights including Asahidake, Kurodake, Sounkyo, and Biei. The entire trip is one car per group, with no shared rides with strangers, making it suitable for couples, families, and friends traveling together.

Day 1: Travel from Sapporo to the Daisetsuzan Asahidake area, visiting Daisetsu Asahidake Gensui Park along the way. Then, take the Asahidake Ropeway to Sugatami Station to freely explore Sugatami Pond, the Couple Ponds, and volcanic fumaroles, experiencing the alpine nature of Hokkaido's highest peak.

Day 2: Head to Sounkyo to admire the Ginga and Ryusei waterfalls, and take the Kurodake Ropeway to the 5th station at an altitude of about 1,300 meters. Guests can stroll freely in the open area and gaze at the Daisetsuzan mountain range. The itinerary does not include the Kurodake 7th station chairlift or summiting activities; no professional mountaineering gear is required.

Day 3: After checking out, head to Biei to visit Shirahige Waterfall, Shirogane Blue Pond, Shikisai-no-Oka, and Hokusei-no-Oka Observatory Park, finally returning to Sapporo Odori Station Exit 31 to end the trip.

On the way from Sapporo to Asahidake, first visit the Daisetsu Asahidake Gensui Park, surrounded by primeval forest. Meltwater and rainwater from Daisetsuzan are filtered through underground rock layers, emerging as clear, sweet spring water. Stroll along the wooden boardwalk and listen to the stream flowing through moss and trees, a peaceful prelude to your alpine journey.

Ride the large enclosed ropeway from the base station, slowly ascending to Sugatami Station at an altitude of about 1,600 meters. In just about 10 minutes, the scenery outside the window shifts from dense forest to vast alpine terrain. In autumn, red, yellow, and orange trees spread out in layers beneath your feet, as if you are gliding over a giant autumn scroll of Hokkaido.

Upon arriving at Sugatami Station, enjoy a free stroll along the open trails to admire Sugatami Pond, the Couple Ponds, and the volcanic fumaroles of Mt. Asahidake. On clear days, the majestic mountain reflects in the calm water, while white volcanic steam rises from the slopes, allowing you to feel the breathing power of Daisetsuzan up close. Experience the grandeur and silence of Hokkaido's alpine world without needing to summit.

Two waterfalls cascade down the steep rock walls of Sounkyo—one slender and elegant, the other powerful. They are known as the 'Couple Waterfalls.' In autumn, the waterfalls, columnar rock walls, and red leaves weave together into vivid layers, making this one of Sounkyo's most iconic natural landscapes.

Ride the Kurodake Ropeway from the foot of Sounkyo to the 5th station at an altitude of approximately 1,300 meters. As the ropeway ascends, the canyons, forests, and the Daisetsuzan mountain range gradually unfold before you. Once there, you can stroll freely in the open area and gaze at the mountains. In autumn, the colors extend from the valley to the mountainside, offering a different perspective and layering than Asahidake.

Groundwater pours from the rock crevices along the Biei River, forming thin, long streams that look like a white beard. The river water below displays a unique blue-green hue, contrasting with the white water, rock walls, and seasonal trees. Looking down from the Blue River Bridge, you can experience the cool and dreamy side of Biei's waterscape.

The clear water takes on a dreamy blue hue due to natural conditions, with withered trees quietly reflected in it, creating a picturesque and mysterious scene. Sunlight, clouds, seasons, and wind all change the color and reflections of the pond, so every visit may reveal a different shade of blue. Walk slowly along the path and experience the quietest and most iconic scenery in Biei.

Vast hills unfold in different colors with the seasons, and the flower fields combined with the distant Tokachi mountain range create the classic Biei pastoral landscape. Although autumn differs from the peak summer bloom, you can still enjoy the rolling hills, seasonal flowers, and open mountain views. Feel free to walk around and take photos, soaking in the bright and expansive scenery of the Hokkaido landscape.
Flower blooming conditions are subject to season and weather; actual scenery depends on the day of the visit. Paid transport and experience projects within the park are not included.
