Soar up Sulphur Mountain for sweeping views of Banff National Park and six mountain ranges. Walk the boardwalk, explore the interpretive building, dine at the summit and take in the sights from 2,281 metres (7,486 feet) above sea level.

Seasonal experiences included:
Sunset Festival (June to September, 2027) — Your Banff Gondola ticket includes this alpine celebration with live music, tasty bites and chilled drinks for purchase at the summit of Sulphur Mountain. Toast the day on the mountaintop nightly from 6 to 9:30 p.m.; in poor weather, activities move indoors.

Autumn Above (October 2 to November 15, 2026) — Enjoy hands-on crafts, seasonal drinks, live music and more, included with admission, and soak in the beauty of autumn from the mountaintop, surrounded by golden fall colors.

Mountaintop Christmas (November 21 to December 31, 2026) — Santa is coming to the Banff Gondola. Celebrate in vintage style with timeless holiday activities, classic movies and festive surprises.

  • Know Before You Go: Banff Gondola is at the base of Sulphur Mountain at the end of Mountain Avenue in Banff, Alberta, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. From Banff Ave, travel south to the end, turn left after the bridge onto Spray Ave. Stay right onto Mountain Ave and follow it to the end to reach the Banff Gondola parking lot

  • Know Before You Go: Parking is very limited. Sulphur Mountain Paid Parking, managed by Parks Canada, is available on-site for an additional CA$17.50 and may be full at peak times

  • Know Before You Go: We strongly recommend using the free Banff Gondola Shuttle or Roam Transit from various Banff locations, included with your ticket (May 12 to October 12, 2026)

  • Know Before You Go: Have your same-day, pre-purchased ticket ready when you board the Brewster–Banff Gondola shuttle downtown, or take Roam Transit Route 1 to Sulphur Mountain and show your ticket to the driver

  • Know Before You Go: Accessibility requests require at least 72 hours’ advance notice and must be arranged through the contact options on our official website
