    • Using Ise-katagami, a traditional craft whose techniques have been passed down in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture for over a thousand years, you can dye fabric using stencil dyeing. Ise-katagami is made by artisans called stencil carvers who carve intricate patterns and designs into strong paper made from processed Japanese paper using carving tools. It's astonishing that some carves more than 900 patterns into a square of just one inch (about 3 cm). Experience the delicacy and beauty of Ise-katagami by actually using it.
