Pompeii: 2-Hour Group Tour with an Archeologist and Optional Ticket｜Italy

Pompeii is one of the most visited archaeological sites in the world and one of the least understood. Without context, its streets, buildings and objects are fragments without meaning.
With a certified guide, those fragments become a complete picture of Roman urban life at the height
of the Empire.

This is a guided tour service only. The entry ticket to the Archaeological Park of Pompeii is not part of this booking. You can add it as an optional extra when selecting your experience when checking out before paying.

Before entering the park, you will meet your guide at our office located in 1, Villa dei Misteri street, 80045 Pompeii, at the first floor of the Pompei Scavi Circumvesuviana train station. This is where the experience starts, not at the park gate. No ticket queues. No searching for a guide at the park gates. Everything is organized before you set foot inside the ruins.

Your tour covers the western sector of the archaeological park, namely the regios VII and VIII, the area that concentrates the most historically significant public buildings and private residences in Pompeii. You will receive a genuine expert interpretation of what you are seeing including details invisible to the untrained eye and stories that appear on no information panel. The itinerary may vary due to unforeseen circumstances, but the tour will always include some of Pompeii’s most important sites.
In addition, when the group has more than 15 participants, a whisper system is provided to every participant so you can hear your guide clearly across all areas of the site.

After the 2h tour, the guided section ends inside the archaeological park. Having the entrance ticket, there is no obligation to leave: you are welcome to continue exploring independently. After the tour, on request, your guide will suggest which areas to visit next based on your interests and the time you have available.
