Chongqing Chaotianmen Wharf
Qutang Pass, also known as Kuimen, is an ancient pass. Its original site is located at the western entrance of the Qutang Gorge, east of Fengjie County, Chongqing Municipality. It was a crucial pass on the ancient route eastward into Sichuan, and a strategically vital location fought over by military strategists since the Qin and Han dynasties. Supported by towering mountains on both sides of the river, it forms the western gateway for the Yangtze River as it enters the Three Gorges from the Sichuan Basin. The turbulent, roaring currents of the river inspire awe and have earned it the reputation of "Kuimen, the most magnificent pass under heaven."
Baidi City, located on Baidi Mountain in Fengjie County, Chongqing, was built by Gongsun Shu at the end of the Western Han Dynasty. It is not only an ancient city with a long history, but also widely known because of the famous poem "Departing Baidi City at Dawn" by the Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai.
The Three Gorges Summit Scenic Area is located in Fengjie County, Chongqing.
The Three Gorges Dam is located in the Three Gorges Dam Tourist Area, Sandouping Town, Yiling District, Yichang City, Hubei Province.
A ship lift is a "navigation structure" installed to allow ships to pass through a concentrated water level difference in a waterway.
