Located right at the entrance of Asakusa Hoppy Street, Takahashi is a retro and welcoming spot you will want to drop by. Since our founding in 1976, we have been serving signature dishes like our beloved 'Beef Tendon Stew' and rare whale cuisine. We offer a great selection of drinks, including 'San-rei Hoppy,' which allows you to enjoy the authentic flavor without ice, and Asakusa's famous 'Denki Bran.' Both food and drinks are attractively priced! The interior features a separate smoking area, making it a very comfortable space. Locals and tourists alike are welcome to drop in anytime!
The signature dish, "Beef Tendon Stew," has been a favorite since the restaurant first opened. The high-quality beef tendon, carefully selected by the owner himself, is soft and easy to eat with little excess fat. It has a light yet rich flavor, and pairs perfectly with alcohol! There is also a wide selection of nostalgic classics, such as crispy handmade ham cutlets, "Stamina Stir-fry" with a special sauce, and fresh sashimi. Food and drinks are also reasonably priced, starting from 400 yen.
Our restaurant is proud of its fresh whale dishes. For first-time visitors, we recommend the "whale sashimi (lean meat)," which has a flavor similar to horse meat and a melt-in-your-mouth texture. We also offer the refreshingly flavorful "whale bacon" and the rare "whale tail feathers." We also offer a three-item assortment, which allows you to enjoy the different cuts of whale in different ways: soy sauce, ponzu, and vinegared miso. "Whale Tatsuta-age," marinated in a secret sauce and deep-fried in a special flour, is a must-try dish when you visit our restaurant!
"Sanrei Hoppy" is a must-try for Hoppy lovers! The mug is kept ice-cold in the freezer, and the shochu and bottle are thoroughly chilled in the refrigerator, allowing you to enjoy it the "original way" without adding ice. We offer three types: white, black, and red, so we recommend trying them all. Japanese restaurants strictly adhere to the reservation time system. If you are late, it will be considered as a voluntary cancellation of the reservation. Latecomers cannot request changes, cancellations, or refunds for this reason.
The Promotional photos are for reference only. If the actual dishes served is different than the reference, please reflect that to the restaurant, who will be responsible for this matter fully.
Dining time is limited. If you're late and therefore shorten the dining time, the dining time cannot be extended.
