Winter Olympic venues: Genting Resort Secret Garden is the main venue in the Zhangjiakou competition zone of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and retains Olympic-level competition venues and facilities.

Winter Activities:

  • Skiing: It has a large number of ski runs (about 87 planned, with a total length of 70 kilometers), including beginner, intermediate, advanced and off-piste runs.
  • Ski park: Features an Olympic-standard halfpipe, aerials course, and snowboarding areas of varying difficulty.
  • Facilities: Equipped with a top-of-the-line snowmaking system and multiple high-speed cable cars, some of which have heated seats.

Genting Ski Resort officially opened in 2012. To date, the resort has completed its first phase of construction, with a ski area exceeding 800,000 square meters. It boasts 41 ski runs, including 13 advanced runs, 20 intermediate runs, 2 beginner runs, 6 off-piste runs, and a snow park. The Genting Secret Garden Resort is equipped with 5 world-class high-speed cable cars with heated seats throughout, making it the only ski resort in China with heated seats on all its cable cars. It also features 3 magic carpets and the TBL Mountain Teaching Ski Park to help beginners learn to ski faster and experience the joy of skiing.

The ski resort is equipped with multiple Technoalpin snowmaking machines and Pronos snow groomers from Italy, providing a comprehensive snowmaking system that ensures a safe and efficient operating environment. To cater to snowboarders, the resort also features a snowboarding area to meet the diverse needs of skiers of different skill levels.

Regarding the opening of cable cars and ropeways


The 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics accelerated the development of the Chongli ski area, and the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway was built specifically for the Games. From Beijing North Railway Station, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway takes only one hour to reach Taizicheng Station. Taizicheng Station, which opened at the end of 2019, is just a few minutes' walk from the Chongli Olympic Village, and shuttle buses to all nearby ski resorts are available outside the station, facilitating travel for passengers to various ski areas in Chongli District.
