1. Hobart
In the morning, we will first drive to Richmond, the best-preserved historic town in Australia. Here, you will visit the oldest stone arch bridge in Australia, built in 1823, and the Catholic church built in 1836. The old bakeries and dessert shops in the town are also great places for tourists to visit. This is also a filming location for the Hong Kong movie 'Always Be With You'. Salamanca Market is only open on Saturdays; if open, we will visit it. In the afternoon, we will ascend Mount Wellington, which stands at an altitude of 1270 meters and is an excellent location for a panoramic view of Hobart and the surrounding waters. Next, we will visit the oldest brewery in Australia (exterior view). We will also head to a famous Tasmanian oyster farm, where you can taste fresh Pacific oysters (at your own expense).
2. Bruny Island [The Neck / Adventure Bay / Oyster Farm / Honey Farm / Chocolate Factory]
Travel south through downtown Hobart and arrive at the ferry terminal. After a 20-minute ferry ride, you will arrive at Bruny Island. Drive along the coastline, weave through the forests, and head to the famous 'The Neck', a narrow isthmus that connects the north and south of Bruny Island like a thin thread, with the vast ocean on both sides. This is also a habitat for returning penguins. Afterwards, head to the oyster farm on the island to taste the most delicious oysters in Tasmania (at your own expense*). Sightsee in the bustling Adventure Bay on Bruny Island and look for the unique white wallabies. There are also some small shops hidden in the mountains on the island where you can eat cheese, taste seafood, or even have a glass of whiskey.
3. Mount Field
In the morning, we will first head to Mount Field National Park, the second oldest nature reserve in Australia and the oldest in Tasmania, home to some of the best-preserved temperate rainforests in the world. Here, you will find towering ancient eucalyptus trees and the beautiful and spectacular Russell Falls. Because of the lush forest and high negative oxygen ion content, it is also known as a natural oxygen bar. In the afternoon, we will visit the beautiful Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Established in 1818, it is the second oldest botanical garden in Australia. It features a variety of local plants as well as plants from Europe, Asia, Africa, and even Antarctica. The flowers in the Orchid House, often used as a wedding venue, are stunning.
4. Wineglass Bay [Freycinet National Park - Wineglass Bay / Coles Bay / Honeymoon Bay]
The east coast of Tasmania is a dream world, where blue skies, white clouds, colorful seawater, and vibrant reefs decorate the coastline. In 1999, the American travel magazine 'Outside' voted Wineglass Bay as one of the top ten beaches in the world. However, Wineglass Bay is nestled among the mountains, and its beauty is not immediately visible; visitors must climb up and put in some effort to appreciate it. We will stop at the beautiful seaside town of Swansea along the way to enjoy the scenery of the Tasmanian east coast from different angles. (For safety reasons, the guide will not accompany you on the hike.)
5. Port Arthur
Port Arthur is a colonial-era convict site and the largest prison in the Southern Hemisphere in the 19th century. It is also the best-preserved prison monument in Australia. The human history of Port Arthur and the beautiful scenery of the Tasman Peninsula have made it one of the most famous tourist hotspots in Tasmania. Every visitor to Tasmania will make a special trip to visit Port Arthur (admission fees at your own expense). On the way to Port Arthur Prison, we will also visit the four major natural wonders of the Tasman Peninsula: Tasman Arch, Devil's Kitchen, Tessellated Pavement, and the Blowhole.
