- Ginzan Onsen
Ginzan Onsen is a hot spring town located in the mountains of Yamagata Prefecture in Japan's Tohoku region. Nestled among the mountains, this small town flourished as a silver mining site in the 17th century, which is how it earned the name Ginzan (Silver Mountain) Onsen. Ginzan Onsen preserves wooden Western-style buildings from the Taisho to early Showa periods, creating a nostalgic streetscape that is especially romantic when blanketed in winter snow. Ginzan Onsen was also the setting for the globally popular Japanese television drama 'Oshin'. It is also rumored that the bathhouse in the Japanese animated film 'Spirited Away' was inspired by this location. The retro, romantic atmosphere created by the rows of hot spring inns, combined with the beautiful snowy scenery, attracts travelers from all over the world every year.

* Due to the implementation of a new shuttle bus fare system in the Ginzan Onsen Management Area starting December 20, 2026 (a new rule with different fares for different time periods), shuttle buses will be available. Due to road closures and time-based fare restrictions for entering Ginzan Onsen Onsen, a transfer at the Taisho Romantic Hall is required. Please refer to the local shuttle bus company's fare schedule (see image below). Guests are requested to purchase their tickets on-site with the assistance of their tour guide.
If there are fewer than 6 people, no tour leader will be assigned, and only a Japanese driver will provide service. You will enter the Ginzan Onsen management area directly without needing to transfer to a shuttle bus.

The ground in Ginzan Hot Spring is often slippery after snowfall in winter. Please wear anti-slip shoes or boots with anti-slip function to participate in the trip

Infants under 6 years old can participate for free but do not occupy a seat. When making a reservation, please be sure to note the number of people. If you need to occupy a seat, please make a reservation as an adult. Only one free infant per adult can participate
In order to dispatch buses according to the number of people, it is recommended not to bring suitcases on the train. If you have suitcases, please store them in the station lockers
