From the summit of Mt. Tento, at an elevation of 207m, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view. The scenery, described as "so beautiful it feels like you're in a heavenly city," includes Lake Abashiri, Lake Notoro, Lake Tofutsu, and Lake Mokoto, as well as the Shiretoko Mountain Range and the Akan mountain range across the Sea of Okhotsk, and you can enjoy magnificent views that change with each season. Mt. Tento was designated a national cultural property "Place of Scenic Beauty" in 1938.
At the Okhotsk Drift Ice Museum, we raise and exhibit strange and rare creatures that are unique to the Sea of Okhotsk, including the "Clione," also known as the angel of the drift ice, as well as the "Namedango" and "Bulletfish." Come and see the Clione up close, which is rare to see only during the drift ice season.
The five-screen theater, with a total of 400 inches of screen, stretches out in front, left and right, top and bottom, allowing you to enjoy a powerful visual experience that envelops your entire field of vision. Images of drift ice, the vast sky, and creatures of the Sea of Okhotsk are projected as if they are flying freely through the space.
In the Drift Ice World Experience Room, you can touch real drift ice and experience reproductions of sunsets, dawns, and low-latitude auroras.
You can enjoy the largest permanent projection mapping in Hokkaido.
