Product Info

Rodeo Drive is only three blocks long, and most visitors walk it in twenty minutes without seeing any of it. This two hour walking tour is led by a Beverly Hills local with thirty years in this city, and it covers the architecture, the history and the stories the shopping crowd walks straight past.

The route runs in this order.

10:00 am. Meet outside the Beverly Wilshire at the foot of Rodeo Drive. Your guide sets up the neighbourhood and how a lima bean field became the most expensive retail street in America.

10:15 am. The Walk of Style, 30 minutes on foot. The bronze plaques set into the Rodeo Drive sidewalk honour designers rather than actors, and your guide walks you through the flagship facades and who built what and when.

10:45 am. Two Rodeo and Via Rodeo, 25 minutes. The cobblestone European lane and the Spanish Steps, one of the most photographed corners in Los Angeles. Your guide takes your photographs here.

11:10 am. Anderton Court, 20 minutes. The Frank Lloyd Wright building on Rodeo Drive that thousands of people pass every day without noticing, and one of the last projects he designed.

11:30 am. The Electric Fountain and Beverly Gardens Park, 30 minutes, finishing at the Beverly Hills sign and lily pond for the photograph everybody wants.

12:00 pm. The tour ends in Beverly Gardens Park, a short walk from public parking and from the shops.

Your guide, all commentary and your photographs are included in the price. This is a walking tour on level sidewalks, so comfortable shoes are the only requirement. There is no shopping obligation of any kind and we do not go inside stores unless your group wants to.

The group is two to six people, so it stays a conversation rather than a lecture. Your guide speaks English and Persian.
