Begin your adventure in Pozza di Fassa, where you’ll be transferred or ride to the Gardonè lift station. Take the cable car to gain approximately 1,000 meters of elevation, allowing you to focus on the most scenic sections of the route while saving energy for the rest of the day.
After reaching the upper slopes, continue towards Passo Feudo, where a short stop at the mountain hut offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy a coffee, local refreshments, and stunning views of the Latemar massif. From here, follow a network of well-maintained alpine tracks and forest roads leading towards Obereggen, one of the best-known mountain resorts in the area.
Along the way, stop at several mountain huts for refreshments while admiring the dramatic limestone peaks that characterize this UNESCO World Heritage landscape. Leave Obereggen behind and continue through peaceful forests and open alpine meadows on rolling terrain that offers a perfect balance between enjoyable climbing and relaxing descents.
One of the highlights of the day is reaching the famous Lake Carezza (Karersee), renowned for its crystal-clear emerald waters and the spectacular reflections of the Latemar mountains. This iconic alpine lake is one of the most photographed locations in the Dolomites and provides an ideal setting for a short break and memorable pictures.
From Lake Carezza, climb gently to Passo Costalunga (Karerpass). The ascent is never excessively steep, making it suitable for fit mountain bikers and especially enjoyable on an e-MTB. At the pass, be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views stretching across the Rosengarten (Catinaccio) and Latemar mountain groups.
Continue with a long and enjoyable descent on smooth forest roads towards Moena, often referred to as the "Fairy of the Dolomites." This descent is fast, scenic, and accessible, making it a favorite among riders who appreciate flowing trails without overly technical sections. Once in the valley, follow the dedicated cycling path back towards Canazei, offering a relaxed finish through picturesque villages and along the Avisio River. Alternatively, depending on timing, group preferences, or weather conditions, a shuttle transfer can be arranged for the return.
