100 meters away, an encounter that changes a life.
One hundred meters. Sometimes that's all that separates you from a humpback whale and its calf. And in the water, that distance no longer exists.
Every year, between July and November, humpback whales leave Antarctica to breed and raise their calves in the warm waters of Polynesia. A short window. An encounter that nature does not repeat twice.
6 people. Not one more.
Polynesian law allows 6 swimmers in the water at a time. Most boats take 12 people on board, and you wait your turn, in line, while others enjoy the experience. At Eloa Tahiti, there is no waiting in line. It's just you, your group, and the ocean. 6 passengers maximum, from departure to arrival.
A sound you will never forget
Underwater, a professional hydrophone picks up whale songs live. Deep, powerful — it is not heard, it is felt, in the chest. Most people will never hear it. You will.
The moment when everything changes
Silence. A breath in the distance. The guide's signal. And suddenly you are in the water — 100 meters away, then 50, then a few strokes away from one of the largest animals on the planet. It's not a show; it's an encounter. Respectful, never forced: observation remains the priority, and entering the water is an option that we only take if everything – weather, safety, and the whales' behavior – allows it. (Observation only for children under 12 and non-swimmers.)
