Sint Maarten: Flying Dutchman, Schooner Ride and Zipline｜Netherlands

The most exciting new thrill rides in St. Maarten! Each adventure begins in the restored plantation house originally built in the 1700s. The Museum tells the powerful story of Trace Wilson who was born into slavery and her direct descendant Emilio Wilson. You will see depictions of what life was like on a plantation and learn about the customs, traditions, and lifestyle. Embark on the Sky Explorer for the approximately 25-minute ride to the top of Sentry Hill; one of St. Maarten’s highest elevations. The experience encompasses two chairlifts as well as a series of platforms encircling the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree views of the island.

After your orientation you will put on your safety equipment and harness system for your Sentry Hill Zip Line flight over the mountain ridge. You will then board Lift 2 to the top of Sentry Hill; a brief orientation will prepare you to fly down the mountain on the world’s steepest zip line, The Flying Dutchman. You’ll be attached to a flight line in a secure harnessed chair, launching you on the 1050-foot drop in elevation over 2800 feet to experience the ride of a lifetime. To complete your top-to-bottom thrill ride, the Sky Explorer will take you to the Schooner Ride Station where you’ll surf down the mountain in an inner tube through the curves and straightaways of a specially designed track.
