We start this wonderful experience from our office in the city of Uyuni at 10:30 am.
Before arriving at the salt flats to enjoy our biking experience, we'll first visit the famous Train Cemetery, located in the city of Uyuni itself. These historic 19th-century railway ruins are a fascinating and nostalgic place, perfect for taking unforgettable photos.
Local Tradition:
Once we are very close to the salt flat, we will make a short stop in the community of Colchani to learn about the traditional methods of salt processing and explore its market of typical handicrafts, where you can pick up some lovely souvenirs.
We've arrived at the Salt Flats:
We'll finally enter the white expanse of the salt flat to discover the springs known as the "Eyes of the Salt Flat" and the iconic and historic Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, which today operates as a museum. At the same location, you'll discover some iconic landmarks, such as the Dakar Monument and the colorful Plaza de las Banderas (Square of Flags), where all the flags of the world left by many tourists to represent their countries are displayed.
Time to relax a little before the bike ride:
Enjoy a hearty picnic-style lunch set up in the middle of the impressive and dazzling white expanse of the salt flat.
Bike ride:
Now that you're rested and well fed, it's time to grab the bikes and unleash your energy. Pedal as fast as you can without worrying, because you'll have thousands of kilometers without any obstacles to ride and ride. Or, if you prefer, simply take in the immense 360-degree view of the salt flat and take fun photos and videos with perspective effects with the help of our driver-guide, who is an expert at taking fun photos.
Incahuasi Island:
You can't leave without visiting the incredible Incahuasi Island, located in the heart of the salt flat, where the famous giant cacti that can grow up to 20 meters tall live. If you like, you can climb to the top along a marked trail. This requires paying a local admission ticket of approximately $5 USD. (Note: The visit to the island is only available from April to December, as access is restricted from January to March due to the high accumulation of water during the rainy season. Sometimes this can last until April. If this is the case, you can request a full refund with complete security and guarantee).
Magnificent Sunset and Toast:
As sunset approaches, it's time to watch the sky change colors and admire this wonderful phenomenon, while enjoying a select platter of snacks paired with a delicious wine. What's more, you can once again take a bike ride while watching the sun set.
End of the sightseeing tour:
After enjoying a wonderful day on the breathtaking Uyuni Salt Flat, it's time to head back to the city of Uyuni, where the sightseeing tour ends at approximately 7:30 PM.
