Product Info

What is the Mindful Korean Tea Ceremony & Hanbok Experience?

This is a quiet, self-paced cultural session at the Korean Traditional Culture Center in Suseong-gu, Daegu, a facility recognised by the Korea Tourism Organization as an outstanding wellness tourism destination. The idea is simple: put on hanbok, Korea's traditional attire, sit down in the centre's first-floor tea and meditation room, and give a single cup of Korean tea your full attention. Rather than a lecture-style ceremony or a packed itinerary, the programme is built around slowing down — there is time to notice the tea, the room and the clothing without being moved along. On-site staff help with the hanbok and are on hand throughout, so no prior knowledge of Korean tea culture is needed. The whole session runs about 70 minutes and starts at 16:00, which makes it a manageable late-afternoon stop rather than a half-day commitment.

What happens during the 70 minutes?

Arrival is at 16:00 on the first floor, with the experience area immediately to the left of the building entrance. The first ten minutes go to hanbok dressing, where staff assist with the garment and basic accessories are available; hair decorations are provided but you arrange those yourself. From 16:10 to 17:00 comes the tea itself — the longest part of the session, spent drinking Korean tea at your own pace in the tea and meditation room, with time to sit with your own thoughts rather than work through a checklist. Photographs in hanbok are a natural part of this stretch, since the room and the traditional building make an obvious backdrop. The final ten minutes, from 17:00 to 17:10, are for wrapping up and changing out of the hanbok. Green tea is served during the session, so anyone with a green tea allergy needs to raise it before booking.
