Product Info

Diwali is one of the most loved and popular festivals of India, celebrated all around the world. It is mainly a festival of lights which celebrates the victory of good over evil. The light represents hope, knowledge, and freedom over the darkness of negativity. Diwali is a festival of lights, sweets, fireworks, and a lot of laughter and joy.

During Diwali, people decorate their homes with earthen lamps (diyas), candles, and colorful rangoli designs to symbolize the victory of light and knowledge. Families come together to exchange gifts, share festive meals, and offer prayers to deities, particularly Goddess Lakshmi, the symbol of wealth and prosperity.

One of the most iconic elements of Diwali is the bursting of fireworks and firecrackers, which light up the night sky in a dazzling display of colors and sounds. Diwali also involves the sharing of traditional sweets and snacks, as well as the giving of gifts to friends and loved ones.

Diwali is a time of togetherness, reflection, and celebration, characterized by a spirit of unity and the spread of happiness and positivity. It is truly an enchanting festival that offers a wonderful glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of India.

This is a special activity designed for Diwali – the festival of lights, where you can experience the celebration in a real local home. You may already have some knowledge about this beautiful festival, but experiencing it like a local family can be incredibly exciting and memorable. Once you make the booking, you will be contacted by your host, who will explain the exact location and how to reach their home, where you will be warmly welcomed into a partially decorated house prepared for the festival. Upon your arrival, you will be served a variety of homemade savory snacks, popular Indian street foods, and a lot of traditional sweets along with masala tea or your choice of soda beverages. You will also be served a couple of main dishes that are popular and a must-try during an India visit. This will be your dinner, and it will be served at the end of the activity.

After your arrival, you will enjoy sweets and snacks to begin the evening. Once you finish your snacks, you will have the chance to assist the host with decorations in the house using flowers and diyas. You will participate in lighting traditional lamps and candles, which is one of the most important parts of the Diwali celebration. You will also enjoy a delightful high tea featuring a variety of special snacks and sweets. As the evening progresses, you can enjoy fireworks. Once the house decorations are complete, you will visit the neighborhood to witness people celebrating with firecrackers and fireworks. This is one of the most amazing and exciting parts of the activity.

Later on, you can assist in setting the table for your dinner, which you will then enjoy together with the host family. Finally, you will depart between 10 PM and 11 PM, after a joyful evening full of lights, food, and celebration.
