- The shallow reefs and rocky outcrops off the southern tip of Sal are an ideal playground for the local parrotfish, butterflyfish, rays and turtles – and you'll have a prime view from your clear kayak. You'll be matched with either a totally transparent kayak, or one with two large windows for unrestricted underwater watching. Both models seat two people, so you can share the paddle power for the hour's tour. Your guide will lead you at a gentle pace into the waters off Santa Maria Bay or Bikini Beach, where you'll drift directly above the action on the seabed, all while staying warm in the sunshine.
