The Mt. Moiwa Ropeway may be temporarily closed due to weather or equipment maintenance. If the ropeway is closed, the itinerary will be changed to a visit to Asahiyama Memorial Park for nighttime views, followed by a visit to the 38th-floor observation deck of the JR Tower at Sapporo Station for panoramic views of Sapporo's cityscape at night. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated (summer).
During peak nighttime hours, special cable car services will be prioritized based on the number of passengers to reduce waiting time and allow you to more easily enjoy the dazzling night view of Mt. Moiwa.
The cable car ticket package – Mt. Moiwa Night View Experience includes two cable car tickets (the cable car at the foot of the mountain + the mini cable car at the summit), allowing you to easily reach the summit observation deck and enjoy the dazzling night view of Sapporo.
*Snow activities are highly dependent on weather conditions. If there is insufficient snow cover or the snowmobile experience area is closed, this itinerary will be changed to a visit to Noboribetsu Jigokudani (Hell Valley), with a stay of approximately 40 minutes. Actual arrangements will depend on the availability of facilities on the day; your understanding is appreciated. (Winter)
The insurance coverage for snowmobile experiences is relatively limited. In the event of an accident during the experience, you will typically need to seek medical attention at a local Japanese medical facility and apply for reimbursement of eligible medical expenses according to the insurance policy. Other related expenses are generally not covered. For greater peace of mind, it is recommended that you purchase travel insurance or accident insurance that covers snow activities before departure.
*During the Shikotsu Lake Ice Wave Festival (January 30, 2026 to February 23, 2026), this itinerary will include a visit to the festival venue. Tickets are not included in the tour price and must be purchased on-site. Please refer to the official on-site announcement for ticket prices; the following are some reference prices:
• Weekdays: Adults (junior high school students and above) 1,000 yen/person, elementary school students and below free.
• Saturdays, Sundays, and Japanese public holidays: 3,000 yen per adult; free for elementary school students and younger.
*The Moiwayama Ropeway is scheduled to suspend operations on December 31, 2026 and January 1, 2027, during which time it will be unavailable.
The Moiwayama Ropeway is scheduled for annual maintenance from mid-March to mid-April each year, with an outage period of approximately one month. Please refer to official announcements for the actual dates.
*The Mt. Moiwa Ropeway may be temporarily suspended due to weather, equipment maintenance, strong winds, or other unforeseen circumstances. If normal operation is not possible on the day of your trip, to ensure a smooth journey, you will instead visit JR Tower T38 (38th floor observation deck of Sapporo Station) to enjoy the Sapporo night view. Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated. Please refer to the official announcements of the Mt. Moiwa Ropeway and the actual arrangements on the day for the final operating schedule.
