Pinaisara Falls is arguably the most famous and popular spot on Iriomote Island. With a drop of 55 meters, the waterfall, which can be seen from the Funaura Bay pier, is truly breathtaking. Observing how the ecosystem changes from the sea to mangroves, wetlands, and land as you head toward the falls is a great way to understand the close connection between the ocean and the forest. We will depart by kayak from the boat landing on the neighboring Mara River. We will then move to the Hinai River, paddle upstream, and once we reach the end, we will continue on foot. Let's trek to the waterfall basin and climb to the top of the falls to enjoy the spectacular view. ■ Pinaisara Falls Tour Overview ・The tour includes all necessary equipment such as kayaks, life jackets, and felt boots for trekking. Lunch is also provided. ・The tour is primarily designed for beginners, so even those who have never kayaked before, or women and children who may be concerned about their physical fitness, can participate.

We will kayak through the mangrove waterways that are synonymous with Iriomote Island. Paddling through the mangrove arches while feeling the sunlight filtering through the trees is a unique experience found only on Iriomote Island. After that, we will leave the kayaks behind and trek toward Pinaisara Falls. In the morning, we will head to the waterfall basin, where you can even go for a swim! Afterward, let's make the effort to climb to the top of the falls. After enjoying the stunning scenery and lunch, we will head back. If you paddle hard until the end, this tour offers a highly satisfying experience where you can enjoy both the mangroves and the jungle.

To prevent heatstroke, it is essential to drink plenty of water. We will take regular breaks, and even if you are not thirsty, it is a good idea to have a sip or two of water. Also, be sure to wear a hat, take proper precautions against sunburn, and apply sunscreen to any exposed skin. As this is an area rich in nature, many dangerous creatures live there. Please refrain from straying from the course or acting on your own during the tour.

How to Get There

・For those arriving by car: As the parking lot becomes crowded, we ask that you refrain from arriving in a rental car as much as possible. You will transfer to the tour vehicle at the meeting point and head to the tour. ・For those arriving by other means: From Ishigaki Island to Iriomote Island To travel from the airport to the Yaeyama Islands' remote islands, such as Iriomote Island, you will need to take a high-speed boat or ferry from the remote island terminal. In winter, the Uehara route is often canceled, so you will likely arrive from Ohara, but as our shop is located in the Ohara area, we can also provide transportation.
