Chongqing Chiyou Jiuli City (Entrance fee/Wujiang Gallery Cruise)

Located in Pengshui, Chongqing, the Chiyou Jiuli City is a sacred site of Miao culture. Nine majestic gates stand here, each carved with legends of Chiyou and Miao totems, symbolizing the glory and faith of the Jiuli tribe. Climbing the 99-meter-high Jiuli Palace, the stilted buildings and courtyards interwoven into the architecture soar into the sky. At night, when the lights are on, the entire city transforms into a "celestial palace," a dreamlike spectacle. Strolling through it, you can touch the bronze weapons in the Chiyou Hall, listen to the intangible cultural heritage songs and dances on the Miao opera stage, and even participate in an authentic welcoming ceremony—the songs of Miao girls and the warmth of rice wine instantly immerse you in the thousand-year-old splendor of the Miao people.

Another way to experience the Wujiang Gallery is by taking a cruise on the Jiuli Cruise Ship, which will take you through the "thousand-mile Wujiang River, a hundred-mile gallery," with towering cliffs on both sides, emerald-green water, and Miao villages scattered throughout, where folk songs drift on the wind. This cruise ship, inspired by the Miao stilted houses, features a bull totem on its bow that speaks of ancient beliefs.
